Each year the HDID tries to add something new to the downtown...in 2009 we presented Hydrant Hysteria and the community helped paint 59 fire hydrants. This year we decided to create new banners promoting downtown as a great place to Live, Work, Shop, Dine and Play. The banners are located throughout downtown and feature a collage of photographs promoting all that downtown has to offer. So when you're driving through downtown, be sure to look up!
The City of Harrisburg will celebrate its 150th Anniversary in 2010. In honor of the celebration, 128 banners were created displaying historic landmarks Some of the banners are colorful expressions of the SusqueCentennial spirit while most display a noted Harrisburg landmark and the date in which the landmark was either built or emerged on the Harrisburg cityscape, although in many instances the landmarks have been either altered or expanded over time or no longer exist.
