Harrisburg, PA, July 2, 2008 -The Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District in conjunction with Strawberry Square Development Corporation are excited to bring family fun to the streets of downtown Harrisburg with its 2nd Annual Harrisburg Street Festival, featuring the Steven Courtney Band on Saturday, July 12 from 12-6 pm.
The festival will span over five city blocks in an area bordered primarily by Strawberry Square and the Capitol Complex and will feature a variety of activities, attractions, exhibits and entertainment on two stages: the SuperReader Children’s Stage and the Main Stage, which will highlight with performances by the Steven Courtney Band, Roadworthy, The Trespassengers and The Mint.
The festival is free to the community and offers something for everyone. The festival boasts 5 sections including the PSECU Kid’s Corridor, Serving Humanity, a Young Adult section, Sports & Fitness as well as a Military section.
The Harrisburg Street Festival committee is pleased to announce the most recent addition to the street festival this year, the Serving Humanity section. This section is dedicated to spotlighting local non-profit organizations and providing the community an opportunity to not only learn more about each of the organizations but to actively participate and be involved in the organizations community efforts. A variety of groups will be on-site including Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, The ARC of Dauphin and Lebanon Counties, JumpStreet, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Arthritis Foundation and so many more.
